den Filmmakers of Tomorrow-Award.
Zagreb Film Festival:
GOLDEN PRAM AWARD for the Best Feature Film
Die Begründung der Jury:
We struggled to find a winner in this selection in which a number of films were very strong and affecting. Michael is a difficult
and deeply disturbing film about a human being that no one can like, a pedophile, whose apparently banal life is described
with chilling irony yet without any artificial dramatic emphasis. A perfectly realised and profoundly terrifying portrait
of evil.
Mumbai Film Festival
SILVER GATEWAY SPECIAL JURY AWARD und den MUMBAI YOUNG CRITICS SILVER GATEWAY AWARD
Die Begründung der Jury:
The Special Jury award goes to a film about a very difficult subject - pedophilia. Markus Schleinzer has made an unusual,
dispassionate document about the daily life of a person capable of such terrible abuse. It tells us something of the lives
of the predator and of the society which helped him.
Der zweite Preis, der Mumbai Young Critics Silver Gateway Award, wurde von einer Jury von Studenten unter 25 Jahren vergeben.
Haifa Film Festival
FEDEORA AWARD - Filmmakers of Tomorrow
Die Begründung der Jury:
The award is presented for the chilling, precise and masterful portrayal of extraordinary human behavior presented in a fascinating
way. The film offers a hypnotizing and challenging perception of the banality of evil as epitomized in daily life.
