At the opening ceremony of the San Sebastián Film Festival, Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon will receive the FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2009 for the Best film of the year. The Grand Prix distinguishes a film from the current season for its overall artistic quality. The White Ribbon, Palme d’or winner 2009,  was chosen by 223 critics throughout the world.
