The 9th Subversive Filmfestival Zagreb honors Nikolaus Geyrhalters Homo Sapiens with the Wild Dreamer Award.
Unanimous decison by the jury stating: Homo Sapiens was chosen because it is a film of disturbing beauty in which the story of a forgotten civilization is told through apocalyptic
images of haunting landscapes. In this pessimistic and bleak study of human habitation on Planet Earth Geyrhalter's static
camera, without a single human being in frame, shows the apocalypse here and now.
