DOCUMENTARY
Sterben werd' ich, um zu leben - Gustav Mahler
To Live I Will Die - Gustav Mahler
Nathalie Bauer-Lechner, Anna von Mildenburg und Alma Mahler are the three women who had the greatest influence on Gustav Mahler
and here act as chronists of his time and his career. The dialogue is authentic (Herta Blaukopf, well-known for her research
on Mahler worked on the script). The citations are taken from the contemporary press. Guests in coffee houses comment on Mahler
and the time he was director of the Vienna Opera.
A semi-documentary film of the life and work of Gustav Mahler, the famous composer, with vignettes which are faithful to the
style of the Mahler era, of Vienna and Austria at the turn of the century.
