The film accompanies a Roma family comprising three generations, in an eastern Slovakian ghetto in the year of the EU membership: the life of the matriarchal extended family is determined just as strongly by poverty and the police arbitrary use of power as by festivals, traditions, and the satellite television that serves as a window to the rest of Europe. Their financial situation deteriorates so harshly in this year that the filmteam decides to intervene.
