David and Susanne are lovers. He's an apprentice toolmaker, she comes from an upper middle-class family and her father is a politician. The two 16 year old youngsters are constantly fighting but they always make up. And they're united against the grownups. Susanne is pregnant. They can't make up their minds about having the baby until it's too late. They don't tell the family about the baby#s birth.
