Egon Schiele: Exzesse
Egon Schiele: A Story of Excess
Cinematic impressions from the life of the Austrian drawer and painter, Egon Schiele (1890-1918): Based on biographical data
(his long-term relationship with the model, "Wally", his persecution and arrest as a "child molester" and "distributor of
immoral drawings", the marriage with Edith Harms of middle-class origin), this film collage consists of external happenings
and inner monologues which are based on the artist's diary. Above all, we are shown his disturbed relationship to eroticism
and sexuality. This became not only the creative impetus but also the basis of his (posthumous) world fame and commercial
success.
A "free picture fantasy" about the existential "hell" and "paradise" in the life of Egon Schiele.
