Sarajevo, 1914. A warm holiday in June. Shots are fired. The Austrian successor to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, and his wife are dead. Leo Pfeffer, a young judge, will become a big success in Vienna if he investigates the assassination swiftly. But Pfeffer finds some discrepancies. Something’s not quite right about the official version of events. Leo tries to get at the truth and is put under pressure. Everything points toward war breaking out. But who really wants that to happen?
